STAND Presented:

DarfurFest 2008

The concert that created change.

The situation in Darfur is still dire. The choice we made was simple. We have acted to help save lives and stop the genocide, but we still watch as another chapter of injustice, cruelty and indifference gets added to human history. Central Piedmont STAND hosted a powerful concert to create change and help end genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Finally, we acted in unison to help save the lives of many innocent people in Darfur. The concert was a success and everyone had fun! The genocide still continues, will I see you next year?

"The concert was epic, I had more fun than I ever imagined that I could helping people a world away. We had great music, a great T-Shirt design, and an amazing speaker. I will definitely throw another bash like this next year. The most important thing about the night was that we were able to help people that we have never met and now they might make it another year to share their story. I thank everyone for making this a night I will never forget"

I am happy to be able to say I tried to keep the promise:
"Never Again"

“I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”
